Daniel Sokol is the current President of the Osler Club, having been Honorary Secretary from 2009-2011. His term began in July 2023.

Daniel was educated at Winchester College and Oxford University, where he obtained a First Class degree in Modern Languages. He then studied medical history (MSc, Green College, Oxford) and medical history (MSc and PhD, Imperial College). He taught medical ethics at various universities before training as a barrister. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2011, where he continues to practise in medical law.

He has published 3 books on medical ethics and law, and over 400 articles in scholarly and journalistic outlets. He has written on Osler in the British Medical Journal, the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, and other publications.

Daniel has sat on various committees, including for the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Justice, and the Royal College of Surgeons. He currently chairs the Metropolitan Police Research Ethics Committee.
